West Lake Longjing belongs to green tea (non-fermented tea). It ranks first among China’s “Top Ten Famous Teas” and has a history of more than 1,200 years. According to records, it had already enjoyed a high reputation in the Tang Dynasty. During the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong made four inscriptions when he went on inspection tours to the south of the Yangtze River six times, and even listed it as a “tribute tea”, endowing it with the reputation of the “Four Wonders” – “green color, rich aroma, sweet taste, and beautiful shape”, with profound cultural heritage.
